Silverbacks announce new album Easy Being a Winner

Dublin indie rockers Silverbacks have announced their new album, Easy Being a Winner, set to be released on October 18.

The group also released the single ‘Something I Know' as well as an accompanying video today, following the release of the album's first single ‘Selling Shovels’ in July.

Speaking on the release, lyricist and guitarist Kilian O’Kelly said the song “Tells the story of a religious person who’s at a crossroads in their life.”

“They have fallen in love with someone but also remain committed to their faith-a very common story from the past,” he said.

The song was recorded by the 6-piece in Stoneybatter’s Sonic Studio, and features a contribution by O’Kelly’s father, John, who supplies clarinet drones and a spoken word sermon at the end of the track.

Easy Being A Winner marks the third LP from the band, who debuted in 2020 with Fad, releasing their sophomore Archive Material 2 years later.

The band have also announced an upcoming tour of Ireland and the UK to support the album’s release, which will see performances in Dublin, Cork, Manchester, Sheffield, and London.
