Shane MacGowan and Gavin Friday for pirate record
It's been put together by Johnny Depp.
There’s a distinct Irish flavour to Son Of Rogue’s Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs & Chanteys,which has been assembled by Johnny Depp, director Gore Verbinski and producer Hal Wilner.
Depp and Verbinski guest on the Shane MacGowan contribution, ‘Leaving Liverpool’, while Gavin Friday and Long Island chanteuse Shannon McNally team up for ‘Tom’s Gone To Hilo’.
The all-star cast includes Robyn Hitchcock, Beth Orton, Sean Lennon, Iggy Pop, Macy Gray, Ed Harcourt, Patti Smith, Dr. John, Marc Almond, Marianne Faithful, Tim Robbins, Angelica Huston, Michael Stipe and Courtney Love who duet together and those two modern day pirates Tom Waits and Keith Richards who double up on ‘Shenandoah’, which is streaming at here
The follow-up to 2006’s Rogue’s Gallery is released Stateside through Anti- on February 18.
