Screen Cinema Announces Closure Date
A lack of footfall has forced the iconic Irish institution to close its doors.
Another piece of Dublin's history is to disappear. The Screen Cinema will officially close its doors on February 29.
The building has been the home of various cinemas, including The Regel, for the past eighty years. While the Screen Cinema has been operating since 1980 on Townsend Street.
One of the cinema's most recognisable features - the little bronze usher statue, was already removed a week ago from in front of the premises.

So in its remaining ten days, try and pay a visit to one the city's quaintest haunts before it closes forever.
