Roisin Murphy and Sinead O'Connor release single
The ladies cover Chaka Khan for charity
Roisin Murphy and Sinead O'Connor are the latest stars to join Action Aid's 6 Degrees Project by covering Chaka Khan's 'I'm Every Woman'.
Other female artists involved in the cover, produced by Ivor Novello winner and writer of Beyonce and Shakira's 'Beautiful Liar' Amanda Ghost, include Micachu, thecocknbullkid and Alessi Ark.
The idea behind the single is that by downloading it and sharing it with six friends, money and awareness will be raised for the incredible work of Action Aid.
ActionAid works in Africa, Asia and the Americas to end global poverty and injustice and has a high priority on women's rights.
Their 6 Degrees Project is taken from the six degrees of separation theory which contends we're all connected to anyone else on the planet through no more than six introductions.
Natasha Khan from Bat For Lashes has also added a live version of 'Glass' from her album "Two Suns" that you can for free when you download 'I'm Every Woman".
Sinead says of the single "I hope the record will raise awareness of the work ActionAid does to try and put an end to extreme poverty."
Other celebrities involved in 6 Degrees include Miquita Oliver, fashion photographer Rankin, Johnny Borrell, Florence Welch, Queens of Noize, Gail Porter, Valerie Simpson (one half of song-writing duo Ashford and Simpson who penned the original Chaka hit 30 years ago), Miranda Sawyer and Jenni Murray (Woman's Hour).
The single will be released today (May 28) and can be downloaded from Action Aid's website
