Roesy launches new album in May
Whelan's is the venue as the Birr man returns to Ireland.
Although he's now based in Melbourne, Roesy will soon have a new album to share with the world and has decided he'd quite like to celebrate its birth back home. The wandering songwriter's follow-up to 2010's self-titled sixth is entitled Wolf Counsel. Recorded with Mark Stanley (Glen Hansard, Gemma Hayes), it will be his first Australian release in March.
Thereafter, May 13 finds him bringing it all back home. To celebrate the album's release on these shores, he plays Whelan's, Dublin, that evening. Tickets are €11 from WAV Tickets.
Before that biggie, you'll catch him in Dublin's Unitarian Church (May 7), Dundalk's Spirit Store (8), the White Horse Bar in Ballincollig (9) and Killarney INEC's Acoustic Room (10). After the launch, he continues a full-band Irish tour in Galway's Roisin Dubh (14), has a hometown show in Birr Theatre and Arts Centre (15) and plays Coughlan's in Cork (16).
