Quadeca announces gig at Dublin's Academy
LA-born musician Quadeca has worked with the likes of Lil Nas X and Kevin Abstract
Experimental musician Quadeca has announced a headline show at The Academy, Dublin, on Monday, December 15.
The gig is part of his Vanisher, Horizon Scraper tour, with Quadeca's LP of the same name expected for July. The project is a sailor-themed concept album, which the LA-born artist described as his “most musically ambitious album” yet, promising fans “there’s never been anything like it.”
Born Ben Lasky, the rapper and songwriter, came up with the alias 'Quadeca' during preschool recess in an attempt to name his "superhero alter ego". Now, at the age of 24, he has released multiple albums and works as both a musician and producer.
His latest single, 'FORGONE', is a nearly 8-minute-long piano-led track that combines string instruments, wind instruments, and soft background vocals with melancholic lyrics.
Before focusing on his music career, Lasky uploaded rap songs, music videos, comedy sketches, and gameplay videos to his YouTube channel (quadecaX8), which he started at the age of 11.
His mixtape SCRAPYARD was released in 2024 via Dead Air Records, a mix of experimental hip hop, neo-psychedelia, alternative R&B, pop, indie folk, and indietronica.
That same year, Quadeca teamed up with Lil Nas X and Kevin Abstract, producing their joint track 'Tennessee'.
Tickets for his Dublin show go on sale this Friday, June 20, at 10 am via ticketmaster.ie.
