More modern retro funk and soul from Daptone – the label that likes to think everyone should still be in zoot suits
More modern retro funk and soul from Daptone – the label that likes to think everyone should still be in zoot suits. Which wouldn’t be a bad thing, would it? It’s basically uptempo funk and soul that follows the classic ’60s/’70s blueprint to a tee. It’s difficult to understand Sugarman 3’s place in contemporary music, but when they’re making such a gloriously authentic noise, it don’t really matter.
