Psychokinesis
This one has quality stamped over nearly all of it
Dublin’s Psychonavigation deliver their second compilation just as quietly as the first. Good thing too, as they’re fairly chilled out gents.
If the first one was a somewhat hit and miss affair, this one has quality stamped over nearly all of it. Particular standouts include Heels Ov The Bread’s ‘Don’t Get Me Started’ – all minimal and funky until an unbelievably choice sample drops, the interesting and intricate ‘Gonna Make You Sweat’ from Mr Projectile, the hip-hop/electronica mash-up from U-Fear-I, the tasty DJ Shadow-esque breakbeat from Njuu and the typically Lacklustre-y track from Lacklustre.
One or two tracks let the side down – Metronomy’s ‘Studio 541/2’ is a bit annoying – but this is a fine bedfellow to the recent Front End Synthetics comp.
