PREMIERE: Video Blue shares lockdown-inspired video for 'Guts'
Take a look at the new video from the Dundalk act below.
London-based Dundalk act Video Blue, aka Jim O'Donoghue Martin, and award-winning director Claire Byrne have teamed up to share a powerful new music video for 'Guts'.
Created during the Covid-19 lockdown, Byrne called on filmmakers to document their isolation exercise – providing a captivating visual accompaniment to Video Blue's song, which deals with themes of loss and determination in the face of an uncertain 'new normal'.
'Guts' was among the standouts from the Dundalk artist's 2019 release, Night Painting, and was recorded in his flat in Hackney and SARM studios in Notting Hill.
Claire Byrne is the winner of the 2020 Aer Lingus Discovery Award at Dublin International Film Festival. Other filmmakers who contributed to the video include Kate Dolan, Ana Taube, Funke Alafiatayo, Hannah McGlynn, Jade Jordan and Ken Adams.
