Pixies seize top spot on the indie chart
The seminal indie band's comeback long player installs it's self at No.1
Following a disappointing showing in last week's countdown, Pixies long awaited return Indie Cindy has jumper from the No.12 position all the way to the top spot in this week's indie chart.
Pixies barnstorming charge up the charts dislodged last week's No.1 as the melancholic song-craft of Eel's Cautionary Tales of Mark Oliver Everett slides from the No.1 position down to number 4. In other news towards the top, Arctic Monkey's AM holds fast at No.3 and country and western star Nathan Carter's live collection The Wagon Wheel Show- Live remains in second place.
In new entry news, Mexican guitar duo Rodrigo Y Gabriela 9 Dead Alive makes some noise, entering the chart in the No.5 spot. Irish indie rock duo We Cut Corners's latest releases Think Nothing is also a new entry securing the No.7 spot.
All in all an interesting week on the chart front as some elder-statesmen of indie take their rightful spot on top of the heap while a couple of young pretenders are making an impression all of their own within the top 10.
