PICNIC IS HERE: The 1975 open up in a classic interview
As The 1975 prepare to hit the Main Stage at Stradbally this evening, we crank open the archives for a fascinating interview with frontman Matty Healy
Two years ago, The 1975 were a bunch of exciting young upstarts, but a tireless touring schedule – along with this year’s superlative I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It – have transformed them into genuine superstars. The album went to No. 1 in the States, and underlined the fact that the quartet are amongst the biggest bands around.
Just before the release of this year’s transatlantic chart-topper, our man Colm O’Regan caught up with main man Matty Healy for a remarkable interview; check it out right here.
The 1975 play the Main Stage of Electric Picnic at 9pm tonight.
