Paracosm Review
Sun-Kissed Groves From Chillwave Guru...
US producer Ernest Greene placed himself in the vanguard of the chillwave genre with his superb 2011 debut, Within And Without, a bewitching collage of danceable grooves, hazy ambience and distorted vocals. Greene has refined his approach on the follow-up, Paracosm, which showcases the best aspects of chillwave to perfection: tracks likes ‘It Feels All Right’ and ‘All I Know’ are glorious slices of sun-kissed dream-pop, while ‘Great Escape’ is an exquisite mixture of melancholic vocals and danceable rhythms. Greene also excels himself on the wonderful title-track, which with its blend of drowsy vocals and a killer groove sounds like a funkier My Bloody Valentine.
Key Track: 'Great Escape'
