Oxegen kick starts on Thursday for first time
Oxegen have pulled out all the stops for the first ever Thursday night at the weekend festival.
The circus is coming to town, as well as a silent disco, a banjo orchestra and a couple of tribute bands. Early birds will be catching worms in the form of great entertainment at Oxegen this year. With the first ever Thursday night in Punchestown, the red camping site will come alive as The Swamp Circus Theatre promises to dazzle campers. The Cloghoppers, the smallest banjo orchestra in the world, with the biggest unicycle tricks will wow the eager beavers on Thursday July 10, along with the aerial artistry of Emily Rose.
A silent disco is always a dancefloor filler. Movers and shakers can get their groove on with a choice of two DJs on their FM headsets. So watch your mates dance to Britney Spears as you’re moshing to Guns 'N' Roses, the Silent Disco is the perfect way to get into the festival spirit.
And for those who want to kick it old school, The Rocking Back The Clock Stage will feature tribute acts such as The Stone Roses Experience, and AC/DC cover band, Hells Bells getting the show on the road retro style.
With all this happening on Thursday, it’s just another great excuse to get an extra day off work!
