Oxegen curfew rumours dismissed
Contrary to reports elsewhere, there will be no 6 pm shut down on the Sunday at Punchestown.
As the Oxegen line-up continues to take shape, the 2009 festival increasingly looks certain to match, if not surpass, the standards set to date, in terms of big name attractions.
With Kings of Leon and Snow Patrol already officially confirmed, and The Killers also certain to play – that's Hot Press' story and we're sticking to it! – there are three headliners with huge drawing power on the bill. A second tier that currently includes Bloc Party, The Script and Katy Perry suggests that the anticipated strength in depth will also be ensured.
Meanwhile, Hot Press can confirm that, contrary to reports which have appeared in other media, there will be no early curfew on the Sunday night. An MCD spokesman dismissed the reports as unchecked, entirely specious and without foundation.
The festival schedules over the three days will mirror those which applied last year. The source have confirmed to Hot Press that suggestions of a 6 pm shut down on Sunday are "ridiculous".
Oxegen 2009, which is promoted by MCD, takes place on 10th - 12th July at Punchestown Racecourse, Naas.
