Obama gives Kanye advice on running for President
Three tips from POTUS for West's 2020 campaign.
“Couldn’t get any stranger, but in case Kanye’s serious about this whole POTUS thing – or as he calls it, ‘Peezy’ – I do have some advice for him. There’s some stuff I picked up along the way.”
So said Obama while appearing at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in San Francisco this weekend. The fundraiser featured a performance from Kanye, but before he took to the stage, President Obama had some advice for the singer, who announced at the VMAs (while admittedly under the influence of a little something-something) that he wanted to run for President in 2020.
“First of all, you got to spend a lot of time dealing with some strange characters who behave like they’re on a reality TV show,” Obama quipped, in reference to Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
“Second important tip: Saying that you have a beautiful dark twisted fantasy? That’s what’s known as off-message in politics. You can’t say something like that. A lot of people have lost their congressional seats say things like that.”
“And number three: Do you really think that this country is going to elect a black guy from the South Side of Chicago with a funny name to be President of the Unites States? That’s crazy. That’s cray!”
