Groovy.
OK, been out a while, but this compliation of 14 gems from the paws of Joey Negro deserves your attention. Why? ‘Cos it’ll keep you going through these cold winter months with a sunshine house soundtrack.
Kicking off with Jon Cutler’s soon to be massive ‘It’s Yours’, it runs through a dash of his own works (Akabu, Sunburst Band) and includes cuts from Satoshi Tomiie, Sandy Rivera and Black Science Orchestra. Groovy.

What makes this stand out is his mixing – Joey ain’t afraid to let a track play out and – wait for it – play one at a different tempo. Hence we get the added bonuses of Blue Six’s ‘Music And Wine’ and Mr Hermano’s ‘Free As The Morning Sun’. Not a hint of designer prog in sight either. Like I said, groovy.
