BCI confirms that they will be accepting bids for not one, not two, not three but four new Dublin-area radio stations
The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland has confirmed that they'll be seeking bids for new radio franchises in the Dublin area.
These are a city and county service – similar to Spin and Lite FM – on 105.2 Mhz; a city and part county service on 94.9 Mhz; and two city-wide services on 107.2 and 107.6 Mhz.

Although yet to make an official comment, it's understood that the pirate Phantom FM will be among those seeking a licence. In the meantime, two of their alma mater, Cormac Battle and Jenny Huston, have started on air this week with 2FM. And very good they both sound!
