Newly-founded HotHouse record label releases dreamy third EP
The record label is the latest addition to the ever-flourishing house and techno scene across Ireland. Its latest release - HHL 003 - features three tracks from Irish producers Lucas and PrYmary Colours – and it is absolutely worth a listen.
HotHouse describes itself as “a collective of artists that focus on accessible underground music, with the intention of bringing something edgy, but meaningful, back to the Irish club scene.” With them, no pretense nor pretentiousness - the crew is all about simply celebrating their consuming passion for electronic music, and this definitely shines through their top quality releases.
Luke Reddy aka Lucas has recently joined the HotHouse fam, as a music producer, DJ and founder of Fuinneamh Festival. A high-flying profile, which seems a perfect fit for this new, highly promising venture. His track 'Ancient Messenger' is the opener of HHL 003. It is an heavy groover driven by a powerful lead synth, in a style very reminiscent of the style of house music that is currently prominent in Berlin's club scene.

The second track 'I've Seen You In A Dream', which was also produced by Lucas, takes the EP on a darker, hypnotic, deep house route. Its textured chords were intended to "open up in resonance before sucking you right back into deep 4/4 grooves with a trippy subtle vocal." There is no denying that it is a very catchy banger.

HHL 003 is brought to a close with 'Heaven On Earth' by house masters PrYmary Colours - a colourful two-piece electronic pop combining undeniable talent and boundless creativity. The tune is an ode to planet Earth, celebrating its wonders with earthy percussion beats, ethereal synths, deep kicks and angelic vocals. “It's a fast mover, with lots of soul, atmosphere and a catchy melody," they explain. And yes indeed, it does sound absolutely heavenly.
The whole EP is available for listen on the Hothouse's Soundcloud and can be bought via their BandCamp page. If you wish to stay tuned and see what's next, here are links to the label's Beatport, Facebook and Instagram accounts.
