New To Hot Press: Darce
Bantry-born Darce is the next Irish hip-hop sensation to keep an eye on. He stands out thanks to his unique approach to music and great passion for words. Starting off as a shy country boy who wrote poetry at age 11, he has grown to become a confident and hugely talented song-writer. His debut EP Sunset was released in 2017, followed by a string of singles, which all generated a great response.
Defining his music as a mixture of hip-hop, electro and pop, he refuses to put a specific label on his material. Rather, he aims to combining a wide range of influences.
“The amazing thing about music right now is that it seems kind of genre-less,” he muses. “I love experimenting.” Darce’s expression of Irishness is also what makes his music so special, breaking away from old stereotypes so he can “give people a glimpse of what’s going on here.”
His latest track, ‘Get Up’, was well-received on Spotify as well as on UK and Irish radio, thanks to its infectious energy.
“It’s one of those songs a lot of people can relate to,” he suggests. “I think that’s why it is resonating so well.” And there’s a lot more to come!
