New Britney Spears documentary to premiere on Netflix September 28
The new documentary will look into the conservatorship battle between Britney and Jamie Spears.
A new documentary about the Britney Spears saga is coming to Netflix on September 28 of this year. Britney vs. Spears is directed by Erin Lee Carr, and will examine the ins-and-outs of the conservatorship and Britney's father's involvement in her finances and life.
The documentary comes mere weeks after Jamie filed a petition to end Britney's conservatorship altogether, despite the legal battle of the last few months.
Following the news, Britney announced that she and her boyfriend Sam Asghari were engaged, before deactivating her social media accounts in celebration.
“Growing up in a world where basically almost everything I did was controlled by someone else...I hope this message gets to people who have been confused or manipulated by a system," she said.
“No...you’re not alone and no...you’re not crazy! People need to hear this before it’s too late! I’ve waited 13 years and counting for my freedom! Again...team #FreeBritney you guys fucking kick ass! Love you so much and God bless!”
