Morrissey confirms Dublin date
Weeks of furious speculation came to an end this morning with the news that Morrissey will definitely be playing a second Irish date in June.
While it had been erroneously claimed that he would play Lugalla House in Wicklow – home of Guinness heir, Garech de Brun – Hot Press can confirm that the Mancunian legend will in fact play The Royal Hospital in Kilmainham on Saturday June 28. Tickets for what will be a hugely anticipated event go on sale on Friday May 30 at 9am. The gig is being promoted by POD Concerts.
The Royal Hospital is already the home of a number of major POD gigs this summer, with Leonard Cohen having sold out three nights and Iggy and The Stooges due to land there on Monday June 16.
Morrissey had already been announced for a Cork show on June 26, as part of the Live At The Marquee series of gigs – an Aiken Promotions event that has become an essential part of the national music calendar, with hugely successful sell-out shows becoming the norm there.
