Morgana sells out of new "Screaming for any team/ To beat England" caps ahead of World Cup semi-final
The Irish artist is set to release her debut album, The Whole Thing Was Very Very Emotional, later this year.
Ahead of tonight's World Cup semi-final between England and Argentina, Morgana has sold out of her latest piece of album merch – new caps stating: "Screaming for any team/ To beat England..."
The phrase is a lyric from 'Sidekick', the latest single from the Belfast-born, Dublin-based artist – who initially rose to prominence as a member of Saint Sister.
'Sidekick' is set to feature on Morgana's eagerly awaited debut album, The Whole Thing Was Very Very Emotional, out September 25.
The caps were available to purchase from her online merch store – both on their own, and alongside digital downloads of the upcoming album.
"Every purchase and tap of the clothing tag counts towards a chart position for the Album come September!" Morgana wrote online. "Aka you would be v kind and nice to me..."
In response to the caps selling out, the singer told her Instagram followers to "bear with us while we try to make some more... Didn't realise how many of you were screaming for anyone but England..."
Following the release of The Whole Thing Was Very Very Emotional, Morgana is set to embark on a run of tour dates, including shows at Dolan's Kasbah in Limerick (December 16); Róisín Dubh in Galway (17); the Savoy in Cork (18); and Whelan's in Dublin (20).
Tonight's semi-final between England and Argentina airs at 8pm Irish time.
