Moi Et Mon Camion
Classy songwriting coming atcha from every angle on Merz's Moi Et Mon Camion.
“If you go off the beaten track, you come back with a story,” sings Conrad Lambert on ‘No Bells Left to Chime’ (Track 9). Lambert, aka Merz, is an old fashioned folk singer who uses all the instruments at his disposal to make music that traverses the space between the Incredible String Band, Bjork and Ike and Tina. So there are beautiful arrangements that veer from acoustic delicacy, to electronic precision, and hooks that in any other age would be coming out of your radiograms. This is beautiful and inventive stuff and you should go out and buy it.
Key track: ‘Call Me’
