Allthough Guidance have a habit of churning out meandering deep house compilations, this 14-track label mix stands out for one particular reason – noodle house it ain’t. Seamlessly mixed by Tobias Berblinger, this jaunt through deep, vocal and funky house and even - shocker! – acidic techno/house is smoother than Kojak’s bonce.

From the soulful ‘Be Right There’ from Brother of Soul through KIng Ola and Dr Mo’s sexy ‘Afterglow’, Deep Sensation’s glorious ‘Soul Heaven’ all the way to Stryke’s two mixes of A:xus’ amazing ‘When I Fall’, Guidance have (for once) got themselves a stone-cold winner.
