Midge Ure announces Irish Tour
Midge Ure makes a welcome return to Ireland for a Nationwide Tour playing 40 years of material from Ultravox, Visage, Rich Kids and solo hits.
Shape shifting his way through the UK music scene for 35+ years, from prototype boy band with Slik, through electronic pioneer with Visage, rock guitarist with Thin Lizzy, chart topper with Ultravox and his solo career, Midge Ure needs little introduction.
Perhaps his most historically memorably moment came on November 25 1984 when Midge and 36 other artists became the collective Band Aid and gathered at SARM Studios in west London to produce 'Do They Know It's Christmas?'
Bob Geldof said that without Ure's initial enthusiasm for the idea, not to mention his rapidly penned sketch for the single, neither Band Aid nor Live Aid could have happened. Midge is still to this day a Band Aid Trustee.
