Meteor Song of the Year nominees unveiled
The nominees have been announced for the Irish Song of the Year, which is running in tandem with the main Meteor Choice Music Prize.
Both prizes are being doled out on February 27 in Vicar St., Dublin.
In the running for the 'Irish Song Of The Year' accolade are:
Daithí– ‘Chameleon Life’ (Sony Music)
Hozier – ‘Take Me To Church’ (Rubyworks)
I Am The Cosmos – ‘Look Me In The Eye’ (Self Released)
James Vincent McMorrow – ‘Cavalier’ (Believe Recordings)
Kodaline – ‘Brand New Day’ (Sony Music)
New Jackson – ‘Sat Around Here Waiting’ (Hivern Discs)
The Original Rudeboys – ‘Never Gonna Walk Away’ (Rubyworks)
The Strypes – ‘You Can’t Judge A Book By The Cover’ (Universal)
Two Door Cinema Club – ‘Changing Of The Seasons’ (Parlophone/Warner Music)
Villagers – ‘Nothing Arrived’ (Domino)
The winner gets a nice trophy for the mantlepiece and a prize fund of €3,000. In addition to the traditional live coverage on Today FM, RTÉ Two will be airing a Choice special at 10.30pm on March 2.
