MayKay to play Whelan’s this December
Her self-titled debut album will be released on October 10.
Irish musician MayKay has announced a headline show at Whelan’s, Dublin, on Thursday, 18 December 2025.
The performance will follow the release of her self-titled debut solo album, which is due on October 10 via GrainStore Records. Tickets for the Whelan’s date are priced at €22.50 and go on sale this Friday, 26 September at 10am through Ticketmaster.
MayKay, who first came to prominence with Fight Like Apes, has described the new record as a personal project written in the aftermath of her father’s death and shaped around themes of relationships and self-discovery.
“I’ve always thought that music can send messages that can’t be sent any other way.”
The album is preceded by her debut solo single 'Busted'.
In addition to the December date, MayKay will mark the album’s release with a series of in-store appearances next month: Spindizzy Records, Dublin (October 10), Steamboat Records, Limerick (October 11), and Music Zone, Cork (October 15).
The Whelan’s concert will be her first full headline performance as a solo artist in Dublin and is expected to feature material from across the new album.
