Matt Benson releases new single ‘Broken Masterpiece’
It comes ahead of his debut album Sit Back Down Again, out July 11.
Matt Benson has released his new single ‘Broken Masterpiece’, coming ahead of his debut album Sit Back Down Again, out on June 11.
The track is described as “a visceral exploration of childhood imagination gone rogue, set
to a lurching shadow-soaked groove.”
Commenting on the track’s themes, Matt says, “I like to play with the idea that the childhood monsters I talked myself out of believing in were actually real all along as expressed in the song’s hook: it’s not what you believe, it’s what believes in you. This is my favourite song from the album.”

He also has played at Glastonbury, WOMAD, The Tonight Show, Jools Holland’s Hootenanny, The Royal Albert Hall, and The Brit Awards.
Additionally, Benson is set to play a series of nine Irish gigs in the summer, kicking off in Club Beo, Leo’s Tavern in Donegal on Friday 20 and wrapping up in Limerick’s Dolan’s Upstairs on September 28, with stops in Belast, Galway, Cork and more along the way.
