Martin Garrix debuts U2 collab 'Fireflies' with the Edge

Martin Garrix debuted a new U2 collaboration, ‘Fireflies,’ with help from the Edge during his Tomorrowland set on Friday in Antwerp, Belgium.

For the debut, the U2 guitarist joined Garrix onstage to perform the previously unheard track, while Bono’s vocals played as part of the song.

The DJ closed out Tomorrowland’s opening day with the main stage headline set at De Schorre.

Garrix and U2 have collaborated in the past, including on ‘We Are the People’ for the UEFA European Football Championships, while Garrix produced the U2 track, ‘Your Song Saved My Life’ for the Sing 2 soundtrack. Bono also co-wrote Garrix singles like ‘Angels for Each Other,’ ‘Catherina’ and ‘Weightless.’

It was unclear whether ‘Fireflies’ will appear on an upcoming studio album from Garrix or U2.

On July 7, U2 released ‘Street of Dreams’ and announced a new studio album due for release later this year.

Earlier this year, they also shared two EP’s, Days of Ash and Easter Lily.

Garrix has also been releasing new music, including ‘Repeat It,’ a collaboration with Ed Sheeran unveiled in May.

Tomorrowland will see more performances including Calvin Harris, Fisher and John Summit for its second weekend from July 24-26.
