Mainline to release single in January
Hot on the heels of their recent Ian Brown supports, psychedelic Dubliners Mainline make their recorded debut in January on Loog Records.
Run by former NME scribe James Oldum, the Polydor subsidiary has been delighted with the plays their double-A-sided 'Black Honey'/'Once More' single has been receiving on UK radio.
Among their most ardent supporters is BBC Radio 2's Bob Harris who, after giving 'Once More' its first spin, enthused: "From Dublin a really excellent dark and brooding band called Mainline. Of all the bands I've heard in the last few months these stand out the most. It's a really dynamic record – they sound terrific and I'm going to play this a lot."
At the moment it's only a one-off single deal, but with praise like that you can't imagine Loog wanting to let them go.
You can check Mainline out live on New Year's Eve when a DJ-ing David Holmes joins them for Auld Lang Syne duties in the Temple Bar Music Centre.
