London Astrobeat Orchestra to play June gig at Whelan's
The afrobeat-heavy group will bring their unique take on the Talking Heads back to Dublin's iconic venue on June 20.
London Astrobeat Orchestra will return to Whelan's on June 20 to perform songs from the Talking Heads.
The group, affectionately nicknamed the 'African Talking Heads', sold out multiple shows in Dublin and performed at All Together Now festival last year. Focusing on tracks from the cult classic albums ‘Remain In The Light’ and ‘Speaking in Tongues’ the ‘London Astrobeat Orchestra’ are a groovy, rhythmic, hypnotic and earth-shatteringly tight live band.
They are comprised of some of the finest West African session musicians who inject afrobeat vibes into this completely unique, razor sharp, liquid funk & jaw-droppingly tight take, on the finest of David Byrne & Co's timeless compositions.
Tickets are €18.00 and go on sale Friday, March 6 at 9am.
