Live sex shows
RON SEXSMITH ARRIVES in next month for shows at Dolan’s, Limerick (July 19th); Roisin Dubh, Galway (20th); Savoy, Cork (21st); Olympia, Dublin (22nd); and McGrory’s, Culdaff, Co. Donegal (23rd).
The jaunt coincides with the release of his new Steve Earle-produced album Blue Boy. Earle and him have been friends since 1988 when they met at Toronto’s legendary El Mocambo venue.
“He just walked in off the street,” recalls Ron. “He was in town doing promotion. I didn’t even know who he was. He came up afterwards and we started talking. He gave me his phone number and we kept in touch as much as possible over the next few years until he fell off the planet. He told me when he got out of jail, he bought a copy of Rolling Stone and there I was in the back, my first album, so we reconnected.”
