Live On Brighton Beach
Party music - damn good party music
How ‘live’ this Live... mix is is debatable (Hotpress suspects there’s Pro-Tools involved in ver mix) but that don’t really matter. For those in the dark, this is billed as a live recording of Norm’s live gig to 20,000 outside his gaff last year – and that just about sums up exactly what you get from this mix. Party music – damn good party music.
Kicking off with a nifty re-edit of Underworld’s ‘Born Slippy’ into his own ‘Right Here, Right Now’, it’s hits all the way from there on in. Well-known selections from Basement Jaxx, Scanty, Santos, Leftfield, Raven Maize and, of course, plenty of his own concoctions are interspersed with random cheering and the odd safety announcement.
If you think you need a party rocked, this will do the job.
