Live As I'll Ever Be
This is the respected folk-blues singer’s second live album and it’s a back-to-basics affair showing him in the way most people encounter his music live – with just voice and guitar. Yet these two simple instruments can convey a range of emotion that is quite remarkable.

Recorded at various locations in Ireland and America over the last four years including Whelan’s, Roisín Dubh and St Kevin’s Church in Hollywood, it captures the undeniable presence and power that Smither has as a performer.
Smither is also a fine songwriter, here including tracks from his most recent studio albums alongside covers of Robert Johnson’s Elmore James-associated classic, ‘Dust My Broom’ and Rolly Sally’s album-closing ‘Killin’ The Blues’. The rough hewn smoky voice of Smither tells these stories well and with real conviction.
With a playing time of over 60 minutes and 16 tracks, this will be a must for any fans and a good introduction for newcomers.
Live As I’ll Ever Be captures a craftsman at work. And what a craftsman!
