Little Simz has released 'Young', the third single from her upcoming sixth studio album Lotus, which is set to be released on June 6.
Produced by Miles Clinton James, the song is rooted in a “punk spirit” and presents a shift in tone from the UK rapper’s previous singles 'Free' and 'Flood.'
“I was able to tap into a character,” says Simz, “that was fun for me. It’s just a moment of light heartedness.”
The track arrives alongside a music video directed by long-time collaborator Dave Meyers, reuniting the pair following their award-winning collaboration for 'Gorilla'.
Featuring contributions from a variety of artists including Moses Sumney, Miraa May, Wretch 32, Cashh, Michael Kiwanuka, Yussef Dayes, Sampha, Lydia Kitto, Yukimi Nagano, Obongjayar, and Moonchild Sanelly, Lotus will explore shifting moods and take listeners on a journey through the Ivor Novello-winning artist's creative vision.
As stated by a press release, "For Simz, the title itself, Lotus, embodies renewal and growth, mirroring her evolving artistry and the album's thematic voyage through life's intricate phases."

Following 2021’s Mercury Prize-winning Sometimes I Might Be Introvert and 2022’s NO THANK YOU, Simz has been hailed as one of the most original and boundary-breaking acts to emerge from the British rap scene, racking up over 1 billion streams globally.
Little Simz is set to embark on a UK tour this autumn.
