Lisa McInerney's The Glorious Heresies to be turned into a TV series
Julian Farino of Entourage fame is directing
Lisa McInerney is to have the debut novel that won her the Baileys Women’s Prize For Fiction, The Glorious Heresies, turned into a major TV series.
The rights have been acquired by Fifty Fathoms who’ve developed shows for the likes of the BBC, Channel 4, ITV and Sky and were also involved in the scripting of Harry Potter And The Cursed Child.
The Galwegian is adopting the book herself, with Julian Farino of Entourage renown directing.
Talking to The Bookseller, Farino enthuses that: “The Glorious Heresies has a terrific ensemble of original characters, all of whom have compelling journeys, making it ideal for a classy television series. Not only does Lisa write with edge and compassion, but her dialogue and sense of rhythm is hugely cinematic. Her material is made for the screen."
The paperback version of The Glorious Heresies.
