Lindsay Lohan returns to music with new single 'Xanax'
After a decade of silence, Lohan is back with a new single via Instagram.
Lindsay Lohan has made her return to music with the new single ‘Xanax,’ which is out exclusively on Instagram. Why only Instagram? We can’t be sure. It’s been a decade since Lohan released music, her last single ‘Bossy’ came out in 2008. About a month ago, she teased new music was on the way. ‘Xanax’ attempts to poignantly tackle Lohan’s social anxiety and toxic friends over a pulsing four-on-the-floor dance tune. The track also features Alma, who recently turned heads as a co-writer on Miley Cyrus’ ‘Mother’s Daughter’ and ‘Slide Away.’
Lohan's Instagram post with the song is accompanied by a video she describes as, ‘a compilation of vignettes of life.’ By that, she means jumping off rocks into the ocean, skateboarding, and goofing around with friends.
Production-wise, the track is built around a sample of Alice Deejay’s 1998 track, ‘Better Off Alone.’
