Influential '00s brit-rockers reform for one night only in London’s Hyde Park.
After days of speculation, The Libertines have confirmed that they will perform what is being billed as a one-off performance on Saturday July 5 in London’s Hyde Park as part of the five-day British Summer Time series of concerts.
They made the announcement today through their Facebook page in typically poetic fashion: “It’s official…The good ship Albion is setting sail sooner than you thought. We’re HEADLINING BST Hyde Park, 5th July… London, brace yourself for the gig of the bleedin’ summer!”
This will be the biggest gig that the band has played in the UK and their first performance since Leeds and Reading in 2010. While it is billed as a once off you can imagine that live music promoters all over the world will making the boys some offers that it will be hard to refuse.

Irish rockers The Pogues and the Raglans were also named on the same bill.
Tickets go on sale Friday May 2 at 9am. More info can be found at [link]www.bst-hydepark.com[/link].
