Laura Izibor up for BET Award
The Irish singer is in the running for Best International Act
With her profile significantly increased Stateside due to her role in the CW drama One Tree Hill, musician, singer and actor Laura Izibor has just been nominated for a BET Award. Black Entertainment Television's ceremony now realistically rivals the MTV Awards in terms of popularity, so it's certainly a big deal for the young Dubliner.
Still evidently making waves with her 2009 album Let The Truth Be Told, Izibor finds herself in a tough group, up against the likes of Tinchy Stryder, VV Brown and Tinie Tempah in the Best International Act: UK category (ok, they clearly aren't up to speed on the last century of Anglo-Irish politics).
The awards ceremony takes place June 26.
