Lana Del Rey's drops her enthralling ninth album
The 16-track album, Did You Know That There's A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, comes out two years after Lana Del Rey's 2021 albums
The American songstress Lana Del Rey just released her ninth studio album, the long awaited, captivating Did You Know That There's A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, via Polydor Records and Interscope Records.
Announced back in December, the 16-track collection follows her 2021 albums Blue Banisters and Chemtrails Over The Country Club. The soft, graceful resonance of the 37-year-old singer's voice over the tracks make them as ethereal as her previous works with personal affects intertwined throughout.
Already released ahead of the album were the singles 'The Grants,' 'A&W,' and the album's title track, 'Did You Know That There's A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.' 'The Grants' is a nod to Lana Del Rey's family - the singer was born under the name Elizabeth Grant, and the haunting vocals of the track touch on her familial connections.
Featured on the album is the Oscar-winning film composer Jon Batiste, on 'Candy Necklace (feat. Jon Batiste) and 'Jon Batiste Interlude.' Also on the album is SYML on 'Paris, Texas,' RIOPY, credited to 'Grandfather please stand on the shoulders of my father while he's deep-sea fishing,' Father John Misty on 'Let The Light In,' Bleachers on 'Margaret,' and Tommy Genesis on 'Peppers.'
