KEELEY announces fourth album Girl On The Edge Of The World
The album, like all KEELEY’s work, is centered around the life of Inga Maria Hauser
KEELEY has announced her fourth studio album, Girl On The Edge Of The World, out on February 20.
The album follows the release of her most recent single, ‘Hungry For The Prize’. Her last album, Beautiful Mysterious, was released in 2024.
Girl On The Edge Of The World was produced by Alan Maguire, and is the first to feature her touring bandmates, bassist Lukey Foxtrot and drummer Andrew Paresi. It is also the first to feature guest vocals, with Miki Berenyi (Lush, Piroshka, MB3) featuring on “Big Brown Eyes” and Sice (The Boo Radleys) featuring on “Trains and Daydreams”.
As with all of KEELEY’s previous work, Girl On The Edge Of The World is centered around and inspired by the life of Inga Maria Hauser, an young German backpacker who was murdered in Northern Ireland in 1988.
“Inga is so much more than a case – she’s a cause,” said KEELEY in a 2023 interview. “It’s my mission in life to do this, to pursue this. The art is something she inspires the creation of, all the songs are a vehicle for her voice.”
The album, described as a “film for the ears”, represents a musical breakthrough for KEELEY.
"This record is the first time we've managed to capture what I call ‘the sonic swirl’ in our sound, the sound I've had in my head all along", she said.
Girl On The Edge Of The World is available to preorder now, and KEELEY will be on tour around the UK for all of this year.
