I will follow-up
THE EDGE HAS revealed that U2 fans mightn’t have to wait too long for a follow-up to All That You Can’t Leave Behind.
“We’re really itching to get back into the studio,” he says. “There’s something very attractive to us right now about ending the tour during this year and then being able to get back to make another record pretty quick.”
While keen to work on new material, The Edge stressed that they’re thoroughly enjoying the Elevation trek, and are in no immediate hurry to come off the road.
“I think we’re gonna extend the tour,” he continues. “We booked only the first six months and, y’know, we wanted to see how we were enjoying it and see how it went. And we’re having such a great time that we’ve decided to add some shows after the summer. We’re mostly, I think, gonna come back and play cities that we haven’t been to, and we’re maybe gonna add a couple of shows in cities we have been to but didn’t come close to satisfying the demand. We’re still discussing the schedule.”
There’s every chance that it’ll include a second Slane – a U2 spokesperson confirming this week that discussions with the relevant authorities are still on-going.
Finally, it’s congratulations to Bono and his wife, Ali, on the birth of their fourth child. Displaying an impeccable sense of timing, the 7lb 7oz boy arrived on the scene during a week-long break in the Elevation tour.
