Humanzi producer one day, Manson drummer the next
Dublin rockers Humanzi have had to slo down work on their debut album so - how cool is this - their producer can join Marilyn Manson's tour band.
Chris Vrenna is taking a short break from the recording sessions in Westmeath’s Grouse Lodge studios to deputise for Ginger Fish, in Manson’s Against All Gods tour.
“Manson was performing on a German TV awards show,” explains Vrenna. “They were on a stage that elevated over 20 feet as they played. After the song ended, Ginger slipped or stepped backwards and fell all the way to the floor. He broke his wrist and some facial bones, as well as suffered a bad concussion.”
Hence Vrenna getting to play at such major gigs as Reading Ireland, which takes place on August 31 in the RDS and co-stars Iron Maiden.
Dates completed, he plans to finish off his Humanzi production work, which will see the light of day through Universal in the New Year.
Meanwhile, Grouse Lodge’s reputation continues to grow with Elvis’ cousin Daniel Presley, Ms. Dynamite, Alex Bauer, Westlife, Gary Moore and Kila all passing through its doors recently.
