Hot Press Gig of the Day: Hard Rockin’ Grand Slam at Whelan's
Bringing a scorching Summer at Whelan’s to a close this year are two of Ireland’s most talked about newcomers on the heavy music scene - Jet Fuel Chemistry and Jailbirds.
Jailbirds are a half-Mick-half-Aussie powerhouse of raw, original classic rock beer-anthems. Their explosive energy rivals that of their artistic parents AC/DC and Thin Lizzy. Having been featured in Classic Rock Magazine and opening for legendary acts such as “Anvil”, “Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown” and “The Answer”, Jailbirds may be the youngest band holding their own in the Classic Rock genre.
Jet Fuel Chemistry is a hard rock sextet of riff-driven, groove-laden, punch-your-mates modern rock. Seeing the gap between Dublin’s Indie Rock and Heavy Metal scenes, the band successfully set out to repair the divide. Hailed by Hot Press Magazine as “one of Dublin’s most promising new acts”, plus huge shows with Hard Rock giants like “Halestorm” and “Hed P.E.” on the horizon, JFC are not the band you want to miss this year.
