Hong Kong via Cork alt-pop artist My Twisted Heart drops debut EP Heart Leak
The versatile singer-songwriter shared the lead single ‘Heartbreaker’ from the EP on January 7th.
Alt-pop artist My Twisted Heart shared his debut EP Heart Leak today (January 14th).
The six-track EP features ‘Heartbreaker’ and ‘idontneedyou’ which the singer-songwriter recently shared. Heart Leak blends together a variety of genres from hyperpop to emo-rock and establishes My Twisted Heart as an artist to watch this year.
My Twisted Heart is the moniker of Po Ki Ching, a Hong Kong native who relocated to Ireland to study at UCC in Cork. The young star lived in Cork for six years before travelling across the water to the UK.
The singer’s debut project was crafted following his move to the UK:
"Most of the songs in this EP were recorded after my move to the UK. As the situation at home got worse every day,” he said.
“Moving to the UK is a fresh new start but it also means giving up on my previous lifestyle, friends and family. Making music serves as a get-away so that I can temporarily forget about the overwhelming stress I was experiencing.”
Music is an energy convertor for the rising star as he uses the negative emotions to create his unique brand of genre-blurring music. This is a fact reflected in his excellent debut EP.
“It’s like the past year or two of stress and pressure has been converted into something that I am proud of,” he said of the project.
