Hector Who Lived shares debut single, 'Monkey'
The British artist is one half of Bristol-based duo, Try Me.
Hector Who Lived has released his debut single, 'Monkey,' via Sugar Shack Records.
Though he has many musical achievements with his band The Outside and duo Try Me, the introspective track is the Bristol-based indie-pop artist's first single. Written during lockdown, the song acknowledges mental health struggles and taking the first step toward self-help.
Hector Who Lived has also shared the music video for 'Monkey.' Filmed with Atlanta Russell, the video takes inspiration from 70s television. The moody imagery matches the song's tone, though there are spots of light that reflect moments of hope.
Next week, on October 22, Hector will release a live version of 'Monkey,' recorded using a projector to create a visual looping effect. He hopes to include effects like this in his future live performances.
