G.R.L confirm split
US girl group G.R.L have called it a day following the suicide of band member Simone Battle last September.
Their record label declared in a statement last night that "Nearly 9 months following the tragic death of band member Simone Battle, girl group G.R.L. announces today that they are disbanding."We wish them continued success in each of their next creative endeavors."
Originally formed in 2012, the girl group's debut single, 'Ugly Heart', although not charting in the US, became a worldwide hit reaching number 2 in both Ireland and Australia and an impressive number 7 in the UK charts. The band released the song 'Lighthouse' earlier this year dedicated to the deceased Battle before deciding to disband.
