George Michael cancels tonight’s RDS show
Although last night’s sold out gig went ahead in the RDS Dublin, tonight George Michael is cancelling his second show due to technical difficulties.
Last week’s Prague show failed to go ahead after one of the singer’s trucks was involved in a major crash en route to the gig.
The technical crew managed temporary repairs to allow last night’s show to go ahead, but the decision was taken to postpone tonight’s gig so as not to jeopardise the rest of the tour dates. Full repairs will now be completed in the UK, where the equipment was originally made and can be most easily re-built.
George Michael has said that he regrets this decision and thanks his Irish fans for their support.
There are plans to replace tonight’s gig later in the tour, and organisers are asking ticket-holders to wait before refunding their tickets. Fans who do want a refund can return their tickets to the point of purchase.
Michael is due to appear at London's Brent Magistrates' Court tomorrow for sentencing, after he was charged last month with being in charge of a vehicle while intoxicated.
