Gene announce Dublin show
The indie-rock group will play 3Olympia Theatre on March 25, 2026.
Gene have announced five new tour dates, including a stop in Dublin’s 3Olympia Theatre on March 25, 2026.
The upcoming run of shows comes as Gene’s debut album Olympian celebrates its 30th anniversary, and marks Gene’s first since their farewell concert at the London Astoria in December 2004. It will feature Gene’s classic line-up of Martin Rossiter (vocals), Matt James (drums), Steve Mason (guitars) and Kevin Miles (bass).
The reunion comes after the band was approached late last year about the possibility of playing again as a group by Creation Records founder Alan McGee and Toura Toura’s Kevin Fitzgerald.

“All four of us met up, probably for the first time since our last gig, and it immediately felt just like it had always been,” explains Matt James. “We were always very self-depreciating as a group and the banter quickly kicked back in. After a few quips barked across the pub table we relaxed and we all laughed a lot. Straightaway it felt like we were a band again. We’ve just to make sure we can do it musically now too.”
Gene formed in 1993 and made their debut with the single ‘For The Dead’ the following year on the indie label Costermonger, which was founded especially for the release by the journalists and authors Keith Cameron and Roy Wilkinson.
The band’s debut album, Olympian, followed on March 20 1995 – including singles ‘Sleep Well Tonight’, ‘Haunted By You’ and the stately title track – and reached the UK Top 10.
Tickets for Gene’s 3Olympia show this March are priced €42.70 / €45.70 / €49.70 / €82.75 and go on sale this Friday, August 29 at 9am.
