Gary Lightbody previews solo material
In the same week that Eyes Open was nominated for the Choice Music Prize, Gary Lightbody debuted his Listen…Tanks side-project on BBC Radio One when he deputised on air for Zane Lowe.
Featuring heavily treated vocals and assorted electronic clicks and beeps, ‘Black And Blue’ is a reminder that, Grammy nomination or not, our Gary is an indie kid at heart.
“It’s me and Jacknife Lee,” Lightbody explains. “It’s a strange, little, dark, country, folkish beast.”
Back at the day-job, February 9 finds Snow Patrol giving a single release to the Eyes Open title-track.
